A New Beginning

December 28, 2013

Well, I can hardly believe that 2013 is almost over!  A new year is beginning in a few days, and this site is beginning with a new image.  Why change this from Heart’s Alive?  Hearts Alive is the title of my whole ministry, from my writing to my art, and that includes music.  All my art comes from my heart, but it is nothing if not made alive by our Lord and Savior.

Hearts Alive! will continue on where Michelle Earl’s Writing left off – a news of what’s going on in my life.  I intended for this blog to be just a writing life blog, but I finally realized that they are all connected; they are all worship art.  That means obedience to where the Holy Spirit leads.  So, I ask that you please bear with me during the next few weeks as I continue to figure out how this site will morph into its new one.  I will bring out some polls for you, and I ask that you participate.  It would help me out a lot.

News

As of yesterday, I have edited Maidenhood Sign, a short story I had submitted earlier in the year.  I have submitted the new version to Tesseract18, a science fiction and fantasy anthology.  With the Lord’s help, maybe it will get in there. If not, well, there’s always more magazines and anthologies out there.

I pray your Christmas went well, and that your New Year will be blessed.  May your journeys be safe; take care, and God bless.

Happy New Year 2013

January 2, 2013

Hi everyone,

I can hardly believe that it’s 2013.  It seems like yesterday when we were ringing in 2012.  Where has the time gone?  It has flown by!  I feel this is a year of victory, and I claim that for everyone who reads.  I pray you feel that in your heart.  I feel that I should tell you about the last of 2012 – specifically why I didn’t post until now.

To be honest, I went through a real dry spell.  It was one of the worst I have ever had.  I began to wonder if I would ever write again.  I have never felt like that before.  I couldn’t write a poem, nor write in my book, and I wanted to have the second draft of sword of earth done by the end of the year.  Oh well, we’ll see what happens.  Lord willing, it will be done by the end of next year.  Today has been the first day I have felt like writing at all.  I am so thankful to God for rebirthing this.  I still haven’t got my podcast going, but that’s part of it too.  I need to get the introduction written, and if I can’t write, then how can that go on?  Hopefully I will have it written by the fifteenth and ready to go.

Well, on a more positive note, I pray that the year will be more positive.  I keep thinking about my characters once in a while, not to mention about the ability to write a poem.

I am still at Audioboo though.  I am not doing as many right now because it’s winter, and when it’s cold, I don’t get out often.  But it’s fun none the less.

So I’ll say farewell for now, and I pray that your day, as well as year goes well.  Until next time, safe journeys and God bless.

New year, Not so new thoughts

January 6, 2012

Hello everyone.  I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and new year.  It was a busy and a rather quiet new year for me, and I’m hoping to get back to blogging soon.  New poems have been posted on The King’s Poetry and I’m hoping to get back to writing in the others too.

Speaking of writing, it has been suggested that I blog my novel.  How do I do that?  Do I do it a chapter at a time and allow people to view it and promote it?  Do I just write short stories and put it together as a novel later?  I’m totally at a loss here.  What I would like to do is put my first maybe 3 drafts online, and then take it “underground.”  What I mean is, then get local readers to read it, maybe an editor…etc.  Then it would change enough that I hopefully could publish it formally. Of course, I would get a creative Commons License at MyFreeCopyright.com, so it would be protected just as The King’s Poetry.

So, I’m looking for ideas.  If anyone has any, I’m open to them.  I’d like to give up this frustrating research and actually DO something!

Happy 2012 everyone!

New Year, New Direction

January 11, 2011

It’s the new year, and I am thinking about changing the look and feel of this blog. Oh it will still be a writing blog, but I will tell you how I’m doing with my book, poems, and other projects plus a little of my daily life, or should I say to follow later, although it is here on wordpress.

So, I pray your holidays were merry. God bless you.
